30 Min Side Lying Practice (Minimal Time on Back) | April 2026

This is a brilliant side-lying practice for those who have difficulty lying on their backs (i.e. spinal or sacrum discomfort, pregnancy or other) or for those want an alternative to a supine practice.

This practices is effective in releasing tension and compression into the abdominal, side-body and back body muscles. This practice neutralizes Red Light, Green Light and Trauma Reflex. When we "prime" the muscles at the center of our body with pandiculation, we release an incredible amount of compression on organs, joints and the spine, and the symptoms that we struggled with start to melt away.

And as you take habituated tension out of your system your posture lengthens, your mobility increases and stability arises. Try it and let us know what you experience.

In this practice you'll explore:

  • Side-lying arch and flatten - re-educating flexor to extensor relationship
  • Hip Hike + Armpit Depression Progressing to Side Curl
  • Side-lying curling into rotation - re-educating the contralateral relationship

Props: Soft, small blanket for under ribcage, blanket for under head
